Buying Land for the Project
We Need: $60,000 / We Have: $24,000
In Nepal, near to the China border, there is a people group living that is called Bhotia, or Tibetans. Unapproachable mountains surround their villages. There are no roads there, so we went to the Bhotia people hiking through the dangerous mountain trails. On our way, we saw landslides, had to cross turbulent rivers and were bitten by leeches. It took us 5 days to reach them through the Himalayan mountains. Thirty years ago, the first man from this nation turned to Christ and started sharing about Jesus in the Tibetan villages. The Gospel slowly made its way to the unreached peoples of Tibet. But the believers were tortured and killed by communist terrorists (Maoists). The believers are still being persecuted by fellow villagers who are Buddhists. The adults and the children have gone through many sufferings. Therefore, a shelter home for orphans and children from poor Christian families was opened in Kathmandu.
Tibetans confess Buddhism and are reluctant to turn to Christ. Villagers are dying from alcohol. There are no medical facilities in the mountains. When we were visiting people’s houses, poor Buddhist families were asking us to take their children to our children home. In 2015, the Lord spoke to us in a dream and showed us this nation. We want to build a house for the Tibetan children who live in Nepal, so we are buying land in Kathmandu. The land costs $60,000. Join us in this project. Take part in the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. Let the Gospel reach the unreached peoples of Tibet.
